The operatives of Anambra State Police Command on Tuesday rescued more kidnapped victims in the state.

The state police command who acted on a tip-off last weekend burst into the kidnappers’ camp at Neni Anaocha local government area where they rescued a victim in captivity.

The police spokesman in the state, DSP Ikenga Tochi said the police operatives based on intelligence gathered worked with the local vigilantes and stormed the location, rescued the victim and arrested one Emeka who was suspected of complicity in the crime.
Ikenga said the arrested suspect confessed to the crime and led detectives to the hideout of his gang in a town in the Idemili-South local government area where the detectives engaged the gangsters in a shootout and killed the gang leader one Chinedu Ajaogu aka Sampolo.

Ikenga also informed that the suspects arrested were being interrogated with a view to eliciting information on their involvement in previous crimes.
